Minyoung Jung scored her first career NSL goal as Ottawa’s record ten-game unbeaten streak came to an end on Saturday afternoon.
Calgary, AB (August 15, 2026) – Ottawa Rapid FC’s ten-game unbeaten streak ended on Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 loss to Calgary Wild FC at McMahon Stadium. Despite the defeat, Rapid FC (10-3-3) remain atop the Northern Super League table with 33 points.
Wild FC took an early lead on Saturday, tallying two goals in the opening 30 minutes of the match. In the 37th minute, Ottawa broke through off the foot of Minyoung Jung. After an initial shot from D.B. Pridham was blocked, Pridham collected the rebound and found an open Jung who struck it hard to bury her first of the year. Pridham earned her fifth assist of the season on the play, becoming the league’s sole leader in the category. Late in the half, Ottawa tied it up when Melanie Forbes took control of a loose ball in the box and beat Calgary’s goalkeeper for her fourth of the year. Series Thurmond pushed Calgary back in front, 3-2 in stoppage time before the half time break.
Early in the second half, Pridham was dismissed on a second yellow, bringing Ottawa down to ten players. Calgary then added a fourth late in the match off the foot of Jorian Baucom. In the 85th minute, Jyllissa Harris converted a penalty to bring Ottawa within one, but ultimately the club could not find another equalizer.
Head coach Katrine Pedersen on the result: "Obviously we stand here with a loss and we’re not happy about that. … I think what I’m happy with is how the group put in a shift. How we stayed positive and tried to push. We still demand a lot of each other but we stayed together, didn’t start looking down, and that’s the positive that I take.”
Next weekend, Rapid FC return home to face Vancouver Rise FC at TD Place. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Calgary (Alberta) 15 août 2026 – La séquence d’invincibilité du CF Rapide d’Ottawa s’est arrêtée à 10 matchs , samedi après-midi, alors que le club a subi une défaite de 4-3 aux mains du Wild FC de Calgary au stade McMahon. Malgré ce revers, le CF Rapide (10-3-3) demeure au sommet du classement de la Super Ligue du Nord avec 33 points.
Le Wild FC a rapidement pris les devants, samedi, en inscrivant deux buts dans les 30 premières minutes de jeu de la rencontre. À la 37e minute de jeu, Ottawa a trouvé le fond du filet à son tour grâce à Minyoung Jung. Après que le tir initial de D.B. Pridham eut été bloqué, celle-ci a repris le retour et a refilé le ballon à Jung, qui était fin libre et a pu y aller d’un dur tir pour enregistrer son premier filet de la saison. Pridham a quant à elle obtenu sa cinquième passe décisive de la campagne sur le jeu, ce qui lui a permis de s’emparer seule du premier dans la ligue à ce chapitre. Puis, en fin de première mi-temps, Ottawa a créé l’égalité quand Melanie Forbes s’est emparée d’un ballon libre dans la zone de réparation et a battu la gardienne de but de Calgary pour ainsi enfiler son quatrième but de l’année. Serita Thurton a toutefois redonné les devants, 3-2 cette fois, à Calgary dans les arrêts de jeu avant la pause.
Tôt en deuxième demie, Pridham a été chassée après avoir écopé d’un deuxième carton jaune, si bien qu’Ottawa a dû jouer à 10. Calgary a ensuite ajouté un quatrième filet tard dans la rencontre grâce à Jorian Baucom. À la 85e minute, Jyllissa Harris a marqué sur penalty pour ramener Ottawa à un seul but d’écart, mais en bout de ligne le club n’a pas été en mesure d’aller chercher un autre filet égalisateur.
L’entraîneure-chef Katrine Pedersen sur le résultat du match : « Évidemment, nous essuyons une défaite et nous ne sommes pas heureuses du résultat. … Toutefois, je suis contente de la façon dont le groupe a tout donné. Les joueuses ont continué d’avoir une mentalité positive et elles ont essayé d’appliquer de la pression. Les joueuses sont exigeantes les unes envers les autres, mais elles sont quand même restées unies, elles n’ont pas baissé les bras, et c’est l’aspect positif que je retiens. »
Le weekend prochain, le CF Rapide sera de retour à domicile pour recevoir le Rise FC de Vancouver au stade de la Place TD. Le match aura lieu le samedi 22 août à 19 h (HE).
