Keera Melenhorst scores her fourth of the year, Johanne Fridlund and Jazmine Wilkinson get their first, as Ottawa extends its unbeaten streak to five matches

Ottawa, ON (July 5, 2026) – Rapid FC earned a 3-1 win over Calgary Wild FC at TD Place Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The club is now unbeaten in five straight matches and has two wins in two games against Wild FC this year. Rapid FC (7-1-2) continue to create distance atop the Northern Super League table, sitting first with 22 points.

Ottawa dominated offensively to start the match, finally breaking through 17 minutes in. Keera Melenhorst took a ball from D.B. Pridham in the box, created space, and took a strike for her fourth of the year. Melenhorst now has goals in back-to-back games and three against Wild FC this season. Pridham earned her fourth assist of the year on the goal. Late in the first half, Johanne Fridlund took a backheel feed from Min-A Lee and drove it in to double Ottawa’s lead. The goal marked Fridlund’s first of the year and Lee’s second assist.

Megan Dougherty-Howard got Calgary on the board in the second half, converting from the penalty spot. Later, Jazmine Wilkinson came off the bench to put the game away for Ottawa in stoppage time with her first goal of the year. Wilkinson earned a breakaway off a through ball from Florence Belzile and buried the rebound after her first attempt was stopped.

“We are very happy with the win,” said head coach Katrine Pedersen. “Proud of the way the team showed up today. You talk about Calgary, at some point they’ll get a win. They’ve performed better than their results have shown. We were determined that that day was not going to be today. What I was most happy about was the way our attacks came about this time. It’s been a few games where we haven’t created enough chances. Today we were good in our attack, we were good in the final third, we were good in combinations.”

Rapid FC is back in action next weekend, set to take on AFC Toronto at York Lions Stadium on Saturday, July 11 at 4 p.m. ET.

KEERA MELENHORST: Keera Melenhorst has three goals against Wild FC in two contests this season. In total, the 23-year-old Ottawa native has four goals and three assists in ten matches this year.

Ottawa, ON (5 juillet 2026) – Le CF Rapide a signé une victoire de 3-1 contre le Wild FC de Calgary au Stade de la Place TD, dimanche après-midi. Le club est maintenant invaincu depuis cinq matchs et a décroché un deuxième gain contre le Wild FC cette saison. Le CF Rapide (7-1-2) continue donc de conforter son avance au sommet du classement de la Super Ligue du Nord en vertu d’une récolte de 22 points.

Ottawa a dominé à l’attaque en début de rencontre, ouvrant la marque après 17 minutes de jeu. Keera Melenhorst a reçu un ballon de D.B. Pridham dans la zone de réparation, s’est créée de l’espace et a décoché un tir pour inscrire son quatrième filet de la saison. Melenhorst a ainsi trouvé le fond du filet dans des matchs consécutifs, elle qui en était par ailleurs à son troisième but de l’année contre le Wild FC. Pridham a quant à elle enregistré sa quatrième passe décisive de la campagne sur le jeu. Puis, en fin de première mi-temps, une talonnade de Min-A Lee au profit de Johanne Fridlund a permis à celle-ci d’y aller d’un tir et de doubler l’avance d’Ottawa. Il s’agissait d’un premier but cette saison pour Fridlund et d’une deuxième passe décisive pour Lee.

Megan Dougherty-Howard a inscrit Calgary au tableau en deuxième mi-temps à l’aide d’un penalty. Jazmine Wilkinson s’est ensuite amenée du banc pour mettre le match hors de portée pour Ottawa dans les arrêts de jeu à l’aide de son premier filet de l’année. Wilkinson a pu filer seule au but à la suite d’une passe en profondeur de Florence Belzile et son tir initial a été bloqué, mais elle a ensuite fait mouche sur le retour.

« Nous sommes très satisfaites de cette victoire, a déclaré l’entraîneur-chef Katrine Pedersen. Je suis fière de la performance que l’équipe a donnée aujourd’hui. Quant à Calgary, c’est une équipe qui va finir par aller chercher une victoire. Leurs joueuses ont donné de meilleures performances que ne l’indiquent leurs résultats. Mais nous tenions absolument à ce que ça n’arrive pas aujourd’hui. Ce qui me satisfait le plus, c’est la façon dont nous avons orchestré nos attaques cette fois-ci. Cela faisait quelques matchs que nous n’avions pas créé un nombre suffisant d’occasions. Aujourd’hui, nous avons été bonnes offensivement, nous avons été bonnes dans le tiers offensif et nous avons été bonnes dans les combinaisons ».

Le CF Rapide disputera son prochain match la fin de semaine prochaine, contre l’AFC Toronto au York Lions Stadium, le samedi 11 juillet à 16 h HE.
