OTTAWA, ON, July 17, 2026 — Ottawa Rapid FC today announced that head coach Katrine Pedersen will leave the club following the conclusion of the 2026 season, including any potential playoff run.
Pedersen, Ottawa Rapid FC’s first head coach, has played a defining role in establishing the club’s standards, culture and identity.
“Katrine has been an important part of Ottawa Rapid FC’s story from the very beginning,” said Thomas Gilbert, CEO of Ottawa Rapid FC. “She has helped establish the standards and culture of this club with professionalism, care and commitment to the players. We fully respect her decision and are grateful for the role she has played in building Ottawa Rapid FC.”
Ottawa enters the next stretch of the season at the top of the Northern Super League table and unbeaten in seven straight matches.
“It has been a privilege to help build Ottawa Rapid FC from the beginning. My commitment to the players, the staff and this city has not changed. We still have important work in front of us, and my full focus is on helping this team continue to grow and achieve success with courage, discipline and belief,” said Pedersen. “Family has always been at the heart of this decision, and my goal is to pursue my next opportunity closer to them while continuing my passion for football. I will always be immensely proud of what we have built together in Ottawa.”
Succession planning for next season is underway. The club will provide a further update once an appointment is finalized.

Le CF Rapide d’Ottawa annonce le départ de Katrine Pedersen à la fin de la saison 2026
OTTAWA (Ontario) 17 juillet 2026 — Le CF Rapide d’Ottawa a annoncé aujourd’hui que l’entraîneure-chef Katrine Pedersen quittera le club à la conclusion de la saison 2026, incluant toute participation possible aux Éliminatoires.
Première entraîneure-chef de l’histoire du CF Rapide d’Ottawa, Pedersen a joué un rôle déterminant dans la mise en place des standards, de la culture et de l’identité du club.
« Katrine a été un rouage important dans l’histoire du CF Rapide d’Ottawa, et ce, dès le départ, a indiqué Thomas Gilbert, chef de la direction du CF Rapide d’Ottawa. Elle a contribué à établir les standards et la culture au sein de notre club avec professionnalisme, avec soin et par son engagement envers les joueuses. Nous respectons pleinement sa décision et nous sommes reconnaissants du rôle qu’elle a joué pour bâtir le CF Rapide d’Ottawa ».
Ottawa entreprend la suite de la saison régulière de la Super Ligue du Nord au sommet du classement et est invaincu à ses sept derniers matchs.
« C’est un privilège d’avoir contribué à bâtir le CF Rapide d’Ottawa dès le commencement. Mon engagement envers les joueuses, le personnel et la ville n’a pas changé. Nous avons encore du travail important devant nous et toute ma concentration est entièrement dévouée à aider cette équipe à grandir et à réaliser du succès avec courage, discipline et conviction, indique Pedersen. La famille a toujours été au cœur de cette décision et mon objectif est de poursuivre ma carrière dans un sport qui me passion près de celle-ci. Je vais toujours être immensément fière de ce que nous avons bâti ensemble à Ottawa ».
La planification en vue de sa succession pour la saison prochaine est en cours. Le club présentera une mise à jour quand la nomination sera finalisée.
