For young players, especially girls in local soccer programs, seeing professional women play in their own city makes a big impression. These are athletes they can cheer for, learn from and picture themselves becoming. Many families come in their youth club jerseys, and it's a great way to spark a love of the game.

Rapid FC matches are loud and energetic, but also fun and family-friendly. Chanting with the crowd, waving a scarf and celebrating a goal with thousands of people is a memory kids keep.

Tips for parents

• Arrive early. Kids love watching the warm-ups, and you'll have time to find your seats and snacks without rushing.  Most games have lots of fun engaging activities in the end zone.  You don’t want to have to rush by the pre-game activities!
• Dress for the weather. If you’re coming to a summer game, bring an empty water bottle and hat.  Come wearing sunscreen.  If you’re coming to a fall game, dress in layers, bring warm clothes and a blanket.
• Bring ear protection for little ones. The crowd gets loud when Rapid FC scores, and we know that keeping the kiddo’s safe is a priority for everyone.
• Take transit. It's usually easier than parking at Lansdowne on busy days, and we often have promotions running with OC Transpo.
• Buy Merch ahead of time, or buy some at the game. A Rapid FC scarf or jersey from our store makes the night feel special, and helps support the team.

Make a day of it

Lansdowne is right on the Rideau Canal, with open space, restaurants and shops close by. Pair the match with an afternoon walk along the canal or dinner in the Glebe.
