D.B. Pridham scores her sixth of the year, Melissa Dagenais makes six saves, as Ottawa draws its first match of the season against AFC Toronto

Ottawa, ON (June 21, 2026) – D.B. Pridham took the lead in the 2026 NSL Golden Boot race on Sunday, scoring her sixth of the year in a 1-1 draw against AFC Toronto at TD Place Stadium. Rapid FC (5-1-2) remain atop the Northern Super League table with 16 points.

In the opening minutes of the match, D.B. Pridham created space at the top of the box and took a clean strike to give Ottawa the early lead. Scoring her sixth goal of the year, Pridham moved into sole possession of first place in the NSL’s Golden Boot race. Toronto responded minutes later off the foot of Lauren Rowe to draw the game at one apiece. 

Both clubs created chances in the second half, but the game was kept level. Goalkeeper Melissa Dagenais put up a strong showing for Ottawa to secure the tie, finishing the game with six saves on seven shots faced.

“I think we had a good start to the game, and that’s always a good thing,” said head coach Katrine Pedersen. “We know they are a quality team, and they’re especially strong in transitions, and that’s what they showed today. We have to be better to manage that. But the good takeaway is that we have a very good defensive unit behind, led by (Melissa Dagenais) and our defenders.”

Rapid FC now hit the road to face Montreal Roses FC at Stade Boréale on Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

D.B. PRIDHAM: With her sixth goal of the year, D.B. Pridham moved into sole possession of first place in the NSL’s goalscoring leaderboard on Sunday. Pridham also has a league-leading 12 shots on target. The Canadian striker won the inaugural NSL Golden Boot Award in 2025 with 18 goals.

Pridham s’est emparée du premier rang dans la course pour le Soulier d’or de la SLN, dimanche, alors qu’elle a inscrit son sixième but de la saison à l’occasion d’un match nul de 1-1 contre l’AFC Toronto au Stade de la Place TD. Le CF Rapide (5-1-2) conserve la première place au classement de la Super Ligue du Nord avec 16 points.

Dans les premières minutes de la rencontre, D.B. Pridham s’est créée de l’espace à l’entrée de la zone de réparation et y est allée d’un tir net pour donner les devants à Ottawa. En enfilant ainsi son sixième but de l’année, Pridham s’est hissée seule au premier rang dans la course pour le Soulier d’or de la SLN. Toronto a toutefois répliqué quelques minutes plus tard quand Lauren Rowe a trouvé le fond du filet pour créer l’égalité 1-1. 

Les deux clubs ont créé des occasions en deuxième mi-temps, mais le pointage est resté nul. La gardienne de but Mélissa Dagenais a été solide devant le filet d’Ottawa pour protéger le résultat, complétant l’affrontement avec six arrêts sur un total de sept tirs affrontés.

« Je trouve que nous avons connu un bon début de match, ce qui est toujours une bonne chose, a déclaré l’entraîneure-chef Katrine Pedersen. Nous savons que c’est une bonne équipe et qu’elles sont particulièrement fortes dans les phases de transition, et elles l’ont d’ailleurs montré aujourd’hui. Nous devons être capables de mieux gérer cet aspect du jeu. Mais l’aspect positif à retenir, c’est que nous avons une très bonne unité défensive à l’arrière, menée par (Mélissa Dagenais) et nos défenseures. »
