Striker D.B. Pridham scores her seventh of the year to tie the league lead in goals, Min-A Lee tallies her second of the year, as Ottawa extends its unbeaten streak to six matches

Toronto, ON (July 11, 2026) – D.B. Pridham found the late game-winner on Saturday afternoon to power Rapid FC to a 2-1 win over AFC Toronto at York Lions Stadium. The club now holds the league’s longest active unbeaten streak at six matches. Rapid FC (8-1-2) continue to create distance atop the Northern Super League table with the win, sitting first with 25 points.

AFC Toronto opened the scoring early on Saturday off the foot of Lauren Rowe. Rapid FC responded in short order, with Min-A Lee evening the score with a strike from distance that beat Toronto’s goalkeeper. Midfielder Keera Melenhorst earned her fourth assist of the year on the tying goal.

In the second half, AFC Toronto went down to 10 players after midfielder Colby Barnett was sent off on a red card. Rapid FC took the lead late in the game off a corner kick, with striker D.B. Pridham heading in her seventh of the year. Johanne Fridlund earned her second assist of the year on the goal.

“The game was a little bit in two parts,” said head coach Katrine Pedersen. “We had a first half where I think we struggled a little bit with our distances against them. They created their chances, but we kept ourselves in the game. Second half, we made a few changes at half time, and in the second half we got more control.”

Striker D.B. Pridham on her late game-winner: “To put the team ahead is an amazing feeling, to be able to do that for the team. To have the opportunity to possibly get us three points is special. And then I’ve got, like, 30 people in the stands, my family. So it makes it even more special to have that ability to play in front of them and get a win.”

Rapid FC are back home this week, set to host Halifax Tides FC at TD Place Stadium on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. ET.

KEERA MELENHORST: Keera Melenhorst added her fourth assist of the year on Saturday. The 23-year-old midfielder sits tied for the league lead in the category with Ottawa’s D.B. Pridham and Montreal Roses midfielder Lisa Pechersky.

D.B. PRIDHAM: D.B. Pridham scored her seventh of the year on Saturday and now sits tied for first in the league’s Golden Boot race.

Pridham a enfilé le but vainqueur en fin de rencontre, samedi après-midi, pour procurer un gain de 2-1 au CF Rapide contre l’AFC Toronto au York Lions Stadium. Le club est maintenant le détenteur de la plus longue série active de matchs sans défaite dans la ligue, soit six. Le CF Rapide (8-1-2) continue par ailleurs d’accroître son avance au sommet du classement de la Super Ligue du Nord grâce à cette victoire, en vertu d’un total de 25 points.

L’AFC Toronto a ouvert la marque très tôt dans le match, samedi, grâce à Lauren Rowe. Cependant, le CF Rapide n’a pas tardé à répliquer alors que Min-A Lee a vite créé l’égalité au moyen d’un tir de loin qui a battu la gardienne de but de la formation torontoise. La milieu de terrain Keera Melenhorst a récolté sa quatrième passe décisive de la saison sur le jeu.

En deuxième mi-temps, l’AFC Toronto s’est retrouvée à 10 joueuses quand la milieu de terrain Colby Barnett a écopé d’un carton rouge. « C’est un match qui s’est joué en deux phases, a noté l’entraîneure-chef Katrine Pedersen. En première demie, nous avons eu un peu de difficulté à trouver nos distances face à elles. Elles ont su créer leurs propres occasions, mais nous avons réussi à rester dans le match. En deuxième demie, nous avons effectué quelques changements pendant la pause et nous avons ensuite mieux contrôlé le jeu ».

L’attaquante D.B. Pridham au sujet de son but décisif en fin de match : « C’est une sensation formidable de donner les devants à l’équipe, de pouvoir le faire pour l’équipe. D’avoir cette possibilité d’aller chercher trois points, c’est spécial. Aussi, j’avais quelque chose comme 30 personnes pour m’appuyer dans les gradins, ma famille. Alors c’était d’autant plus spécial d’avoir pu jouer devant eux et de signer la victoire ».

Le CF Rapide sera de retour à domicile cette semaine, alors que l’équipe recevra les Tides de Halifax FC au Stade la Place TD, ce jeudi 16 juillet à 19 h HE.

KEERA MELENHORST : Keera Melenhorst a inscrit sa quatrième passe décisive de la saison, samedi. La milieu de terrain de 23 ans se trouve au premier rang dans la ligue à ce chapitre, à égalité avec sa coéquipière D.B. Pridham et la milieu de terrain des Roses de Montréal Lisa Pechersky.
